Project Details

What: Provision of new leisure, administration, social and educational facilities.
Objective: To deliver an external wall system with a 25 year warranty an overall U-value of 0.18W/m²K. To achieve this Ecofix had to use a 240 mm Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Kingspan board.

Ecofix were asked by Sisk and architect O’Mahony Pike to design an external wall system that can achieve an external wall system that was a high caliber modern finish however needed a long life. The main body of the building consisted of a swimming pool which meant humidity would play a part in overall design. Ecofix ran tests showing high levels of moisture internally and external temperatures down to -15 Celsius. Ecofix could demonstrate no dew point occurred with in our system.
